Five hours a week

Hey Reader,

A senior clinician loves to be paid more.

Often they don't use their diary well, and as a unit in your business you're carrying them.

I measure it one way: hours in front of patients, divided by the full 38-hour contract.

Meetings, notes and PD stay in, because you're paying for those hours either way.

Under 70% you're carrying them.

Above 85% they're cooking.

The whole gap is five to six hours a week, and that's where the profit and the wages sit.

I use 75% as the benchmark inside two years and 80% for anyone four or five years out.

At 80%, even at $225 an hour, that diary bills about $300,000 a year on a 44-week year.

In the clinics I see, some sustain seniors billing closer to $400,000 while others have seniors who aren't even hitting $200,000.

Same title, same years.

80% isn't a test of whether someone is senior. It's the benchmark an established senior should be able to reach, and a senior sitting well under it is an operating problem worth fixing.

The article has how to measure it, what 80% bills, and the award's Senior Clinician definition kept separate from the benchmark.

Read it here.

Hi Reader, Yesterday the People community ran its September session, the visibility audit. Four clinic owners scored each other's Google listing and website on their phones against a thirty-line sheet, then rang each other's clinics as a new patient with a sore back to see how easy it was to book. Every phone got answered. Nobody scored clean. Everyone left with one free fix to do that afternoon. That is what People is: one ninety-minute session a month with a small group of owners, recorded,...

Hi Reader, Thursday's People session was the visibility audit - the three doors a new client comes in through, online, on foot and by phone, and where each one jams. Recording: in the masterclass vault - Watch Masterclass Sessions Here. The audit sheet: download the PDF. Thirty yes/no lines across the three doors, three pages. It is in the vault beside the recording too. Worth scoring your own clinic before you watch. Your commitment: the cheapest no on the sheet, fixed before the next...

Osmosis: How to build a high performing team (part two) View in html at Gun Physio Academy. The process of osmosis involves learning through direct exposure. It's a subtle form of learning - but the most authentic. The way a leader behaves on a daily basis dictates the environment around them. Leaders who fluctuate, between states of high highs and low lows, create turbulence. The less stable the leader, the less stable the environment. The less stable the environment, the less stable the...
